Arabic vocabulary
How to say “hands” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ أَكَفُّهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
I certainly saw that his hands were kept away from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
أَكَفُّهُ — his hands. This names the hands with an attached possessive on its end pointing to 'his', so the owner is fused onto the noun. It is what the speaker saw, and the possessor reaches back to the man being talked about, not to the nearest word.
