How to say “he permitted” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ثُمَّ قَالَ ائْذَنْ لِعَشَرَةٍ فَأَذَنَ لَهُمْ فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا، ثُمَّ خَرَجُوا،
Then he said, "Allow ten." He granted them permission, and they ate until they were full. Then they went out.
فَأَذَنَ — so he permitted. The fa- delivers the granting -- 'so he gave leave' -- the verb carrying its 'he', the result of the renewed order. The fa- marks the permission as the immediate upshot.
