How to say “hide” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وقوله لسُراقة أخفِ عنا فالتوكل الممدوح لا يُنال بفعل محذور،
And his saying to Suraqa, 'Conceal us,' as commendable trust in God is not achieved by committing forbidden acts,
أَخْفِ — conceal. This is a command form, 'conceal/hide', addressed to one person. Arabic builds the order by paring the verb down, and its trimmed ending here is the cut-off shape proper to a singular imperative.
