How to say “prohibited” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وقوله لسُراقة أخفِ عنا فالتوكل الممدوح لا يُنال بفعل محذور،
And his saying to Suraqa, 'Conceal us,' as commendable trust in God is not achieved by committing forbidden acts,
مَحْذُورٍ — a prohibited thing. This owner noun closes the 'doing of a forbidden thing' pairing, so it takes the governed ending, and its bare marking makes it indefinite, 'a prohibited thing'. It names what kind of act is meant.
