How to say “his breaths” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
الَّذِي قَطَعَ أَنْفَاسَهُ بِالْمُجُونِ وَاللَّهْوِ وَالْأَلْعَابِ
who cut short his life through debauchery, amusement, and games
أَنْفَاسَهُ — his breaths. A plural noun carrying the attached owner ending '-hu' (his) fused onto its tail, so one Arabic word delivers both the thing and its possessor. It sits as the object of the verb before it, and 'breaths' stands in for the lifespan being spent away.
