Arabic vocabulary
How to say “hit” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ مَا أَخْطَأَك لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُصِيبَك،
And know that what missed you was never going to reach you.
لِيُصِيبَكَ — to hit you. After 'was not', this 'li-' plus a subjunctive verb forms a flat denial of any possibility: 'was not [destined] to befall you'. The 'li-' triggers the subjunctive '-a' ending, ruling the event out as never in your fate; '-ka' is the object 'you'.
