How to say “honored them” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ شَرَّفَهُمْ وَأَعْلَى مَنْزِلَتَهُمْ بِدُخُولِهِمْ الإِسْلَامِ،
And that God honored them and elevated their station by their entering Islam,
شرّفهم — honored them. A past-tense verb 'honored' with its 'He' built in and -hum ('them') attached as its object, so one word holds verb, subject, and object. The doer is God, named just before; the -hum points to the Companions. It states the first of God's two favors upon them.
