Arabic vocabulary
How to say “Islam” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ شَرَّفَهُمْ وَأَعْلَى مَنْزِلَتَهُمْ بِدُخُولِهِمْ الإِسْلَامِ،
And that God honored them and elevated their station by their entering Islam,
الإسلام — Islam. A noun naming the faith, the owner completing 'their entering of Islam', so it takes the genitive ending as the end of the possessive link. It tells what they entered. Setting the action-noun directly before this owner is how Arabic says 'their entering Islam' with no separate 'of'.
