How to say “in bouts” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ الْحَرْبُ بَيْنَ دَاءِهِ وَقُوَّتِهِ نَوْبًا فَهُوَ مُتَرَدِّدٌ بَيْنَ الصِّحَّةِ وَالْمَرَضِ
And among them are those for whom the struggle between his disease and his strength is in bouts, so he is wavering between health and illness.
نَوْبًا — in bouts. A noun in the accusative used adverbially to say how the struggle goes: in alternating bouts, in fits and starts. Arabic marks this 'in what manner' meaning with the accusative ending rather than a preposition.
