How to say “Jabir” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَتَى عَلْيَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ جَابِرٌ
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, came up to me, and I, Jabir, said.
جَابِرٌ — I, Jabir. This name is the doer of the verb 'said' just before it and so takes the nominative ('subject') ending. It is placed after the verb to spotlight the speaker, the narrator naming himself as the one who answered.
