How to say “judge” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قال الامام الحافظ أبو الفضل القاضي عياض ﵀
Imam Al-Hafiz Abu Al-Fadl Qadi Iyad, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
القَاضِي — Qadi. A title 'the judge' with al- ('the'), another label in apposition to the speaker's name, sharing the nominative as part of the subject. It adds his judicial office to the stack of titles. The appositive run keeps describing one and the same person.
