Arabic vocabulary
How to say “light of” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَسَارَ أَصْحَابُهُ مَعَهُ وَبِعَدِّهِ فِي ضَوْءِ نُورِهِ سَالِمِينَ مِنَ الْعَدُوِّ وَغُرُورِهِ
His companions set out with him and with his retinue, walking in the light of his radiance, safe from the enemy and its deception.
ضَوْءِ — the light of. The head of a possessive pairing, 'the light of his radiance', so it links directly to the noun that follows. As the first half of such a chain it drops its own 'the' and takes definiteness from what comes after.
