How to say “news” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
قد كنا يا رسول الله نكذبك بما تأتينا به من خبر السماء،
We used to deny you, O Messenger of Allah, concerning what you brought us from the news of the heavens,
خَبَرِ — news. khabar means 'news, report'; heading an 'of…' phrase with the next word; the noun after 'min'.
From: Early Converts to Islam →نطقت بفضله الْآيَات وَالْأَخْبَار
The verses and reports spoke of his virtue.
وَالْأَخْبَارُ — and the reports. 'And' plus a broken plural 'reports / hadiths', a second subject, nominative — the prophetic reports. Verses and reports together attest his merit.
From: Abu Bakr: First Champion of Islam →يَأْتِيهِ الْخَبَرُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ،
News will come to him from the sky.
الْخَبَرُ — the news. Carries the attached 'the' and stands as the doer of the verb, its ending in the subject case. So although it comes after the verb, this is what actually arrives — the news that comes.
From: A Stranger Finds the Prophet →يَلْتَمِسُونَ الْخَبَرَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
They seek news about the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.
الْخَبَرَ — the news. The definite noun 'the news' is the thing being sought, and its '-a' ending marks it as the object of the verb before it. Arabic signals this receiving-the-action role by the vowel ending rather than by position alone.
