Arabic vocabulary
How to say “Paradise” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
قال يقولون يسألونك الجنة
He said: They say: They ask You for Paradise.
الجَنَّةَ — Paradise. This is the second object of 'ask' — the thing requested — in the accusative: Paradise. So 'they ask You [for] Paradise', the double-object pattern with no 'for'.
From: Where Angels Gather →وإن كانت تؤول إلى الجنة، فهي حلوة في الحقيقة وإن كانت مرة في المذاق
And if it leads to Paradise, then it is truly sweet, even if it is bitter in taste.
الْجَنَّةِ — Paradise. The noun governed by 'to', in that form, its 'the' marking the Garden as the one known place. It is what the pleasure leads to in the good case.
