How to say “partner” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى الشَّرِيكِ فَاعْتَرَفَ أَنَّهُ قَتَلَهُ
So he sent to the partner, and he admitted that he had killed him.
الشَّرِيك — the partner. The al- marks this as the definite, specific partner already in the story. Following the preposition, it takes the post-preposition case, shown by the short vowel on its end. He is the one the king sent to.
