وَتَضَيَّقَ سَبِيلًا مَا زَالَ مُتَّسِعًا فَفَرَّقَ الأَكْثَرُونَ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا شِيعًا
And a path that had remained wide became narrow, so the majority divided their religion and became sects.
سَبِيلًا — a path. An indefinite noun in the accusative shape, the path that the narrowing acts on. Its accusative ending marks it as the thing affected by the action.

سَبِيلًا — a way. An indefinite noun 'a way' in the accusative, used to specify in what respect ability is meant, 'able as to a way to it'. The accusative here narrows the ability to the means of reaching the House.
