Arabic vocabulary
How to say “pleasure” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَمَّا الْعَاقِلُ فَإِنَّهُ يَنْهَى نَفْسَهُ عَنْ لَذَّةٍ تُعَقِّبُ أَلَمًا
As for the rational person, he restrains himself from pleasure that is followed by pain.
لَذَّةٍ — pleasure. Indefinite and genitive after 'from' — 'any pleasure'; it then opens onto a describing clause. Because the noun is indefinite, that clause attaches with no linking word like English 'that'.
