Arabic vocabulary
How to say “price” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فقال الأعرابي إنه يطلب ثمن ما أكلت ناقتي
The Bedouin said: He demands the price of what my camel ate.
ثَمَنَ — the price. This is 'price' heading a possessive pairing with what follows, 'the price of what...'. As the owner-term it takes the accusative because it is the object of 'demands', and the owned part follows. It names the sum being claimed.
