How to say “pride” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كم مطمئن في عزته أخذه بعزته بياتا،
How many, secure in their pride, did He take by His might overnight,
عِزَّتِهِ — his pride. In the genitive because 'in' governs it, this noun carries an attached 'his' pointing back to the secure person, so it means 'his might/pride'. The suffix tracks the possessor, naming the self-importance in which he felt safe.
