Arabic vocabulary
How to say “prophet” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ كُدَىٰ،
And the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, entered from Kuda.
النَّبِيُّ — the Prophet. This noun carries the 'the' marker, making it a specific, known title rather than just any man. Following the verb, it names the doer of the entering, so the action that was stated first now gets its actor; Arabic regularly puts the verb before its subject like this.
