Arabic vocabulary
قَصْد is how you say “purpose” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
علماء السوء الذين قصدهم من العلم التنعم بالدنيا والتوصل الى الجاه والمنزلة عند أهلها،
The corrupt scholars whose purpose in knowledge is to indulge in worldly life and attain status among its people.
قَصْدُهُم — their purpose. A noun, 'aim', with an attached 'their' folded onto its end, pointing back to the scholars. This noun is also the subject of the sentence describing what their aim is, so one short word carries both the thing and its owners.
