How to say “reciter” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
رجل تعلم العلم وعلمه وقرأ القرآن وأقرأه ليقول الناس هو عالم وقارئ،
A man who learned knowledge, taught it, and recited the Quran, but did so for people's praise, saying: He is a scholar and a reciter,
وَقَارِئٌ — and a reciter. 'And' plus a second predicate, parallel and likewise indefinite nominative — 'a scholar and a reciter'. The active participle names the doer of reciting, the reputation he was chasing.
From: Deeds for God Alone →قال سمعت القارئ يقرأ ولقد خلقنا السموات والأرض وما بينهما في ستة أيام فظننت الأيام أشهرًا
He said: I heard the reciter reading 'And We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six days,' so I thought the days were months.
الْقَارِئَ — the reciter. This is 'the reciter', definite with 'al-', and the direct object of 'I heard', so it takes the accusative ending. A second verb after it describes what the reciter was doing, giving the 'I heard him reading' pattern where the object is then shown in action.
