How to say “sound” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
اذا كان صاحبها سليم الاعتقاد عادلا خيرا كما رأينا جماعة منهم،
If its adherent has sound belief, is just and kind, as we have seen in some of them.
سَلِيمَ — sound. This is the first predicate of 'to be', in the accusative, and it heads a possessive — 'sound OF belief'. Arabic builds 'sound in X' by setting this adjective before the noun, which then takes the genitive. The accusative marks it as a 'kana' predicate.
