Arabic vocabulary
How to say “suffice” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلِهَذَا لَا يَكْفِيُ أَحَدُهُمَا فِي عِبَادَةِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى
For this reason, neither of them suffices in the worship of God Most High.
يَكْفِي — he suffices. A present-tense verb with its 'he/it' subject built in, meaning 'suffices'. Negated by the particle before it, it asserts insufficiency. The form is the plain present, the default for a general truth, here that one of the two is never enough.
