How to say “the benefactor” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
غَيْرُ خَافٍ عَلَى عَاقِلٍ حَقُّ الْمُنْعِمِ،
The right of the benefactor is not hidden from a sensible person.
المنعم — the benefactor. This is an active participle, a 'doer' word for 'the one who bestows favor', carrying al-, and it is the owner half of the 'right of...' pairing, hence genitive. Arabic builds 'the right of the benefactor' by setting the two nouns side by side, the genitive ending alone marking the 'of'. So it names whose due is in question.
