Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the deeds” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
مَنْ أَحَبَّ تَصْفِيَةَ الْأَحْوَالِ، فَلْيَجْتَهِدْ فِي تَصْفِيَةِ الْأَعْمَالِ،
Whoever loves to purify his inner states should strive to purify his deeds.
الْأَعْمَالِ — the deeds. A definite plural closing the 'of' chain, 'purifying of the deeds', so it takes the 'of'-style ending as the thing purified. It names the outward actions to be cleansed, set in parallel with the inner 'states' of the first half. The case marking alone ties it to the noun before it.
