Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the people” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَعَرَضَ ضِيَاعَهُ عَلَى الْبَيْعِ وَكَانَ النَّاسُ يَتَنَافَسُونَ فِيهَا
So he offered his possessions for sale, and people were competing for them.
النَّاسُ — the people. A definite noun and the subject of 'was', so it takes the plain naming ending. It sets up the people whose ongoing competing the clause describes.
