How to say “the return” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لَا سِيْمَةِ إِذَا أَضَافَ إِلَى جَحْدِ الْحَقِّ الْمُقَابَلَةِ بِسُوْءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ
Especially when, in addition to denying the corresponding right, he repays it with a harmful return.
الْمُنْقَلَبِ — the return. This noun carries al- 'the' and is the owner half of the 'badness of...' pairing opened by the word before it, so it sits in the genitive. Arabic builds 'the bad of the outcome' by setting the two nouns side by side, the genitive ending carrying the 'of'. So it names the harmful return the offender gives back.
