How to say “sign” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لَا سِيْمَةِ إِذَا أَضَافَ إِلَى جَحْدِ الْحَقِّ الْمُقَابَلَةِ بِسُوْءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ
Especially when, in addition to denying the corresponding right, he repays it with a harmful return.
سِيْمَةِ — sign. This word forms the second half of the frozen 'especially' idiom with the negation before it, the two acting together as a single connecting expression. In this fixed phrase it does not carry its ordinary dictionary sense but functions adverbially. So it helps mark the upcoming case as an even worse instance.
