Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the steps” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَٱغْفِرْ فِدَاءٌ لَكَ مَا اِقْتَفَيْنَا وَثَبِّّتْ الْأَقْدَامَ إِنْ لَاقَيْنَا
So forgive us; let what we have followed be a ransom for you, and make our steps firm if we meet.
الْأَقْدَامَ — the steps. The al- prefix makes this noun definite, the specific feet/steps in view, here understood as 'our steps'. Its final -a marks it as the direct object, the thing asked to be steadied by the preceding command.
