How to say “we followed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَٱغْفِرْ فِدَاءٌ لَكَ مَا اِقْتَفَيْنَا وَثَبِّّتْ الْأَقْدَامَ إِنْ لَاقَيْنَا
So forgive us; let what we have followed be a ransom for you, and make our steps firm if we meet.
اِقْتَفَيْنَا — we followed. A finished-action verb with -na fixing the doers as 'we', the subject built in. It names what was followed, the deeds the speakers offer up, and stands as the content of the preceding 'what' clause.
