Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the sufficiency” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقِيلَ يَعِدُكُمْ الْفَقْرُ فِي طَلَبِ فَوْقَ الْكَفَافِ
And it was said: poverty will befall you when you seek beyond what suffices.
الْكَفَافِ — the sufficiency. The noun 'sufficiency', made definite by al- ('the'), the owned half of 'beyond sufficiency', so it takes the 'of' (genitive) ending. It names the threshold that, once exceeded in seeking, brings on poverty.
