How to say “the two authentic collections” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَدْ ثُبِتَ فِي الصَّحِيحَيْنِ عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ
And it has been established in the two Sahih collections from Ibn Mas'ud from the Prophet that he said:
الصَّحِيحَيْنِ — the two authentic collections. This noun is in the dual, Arabic's dedicated 'exactly two' form, meaning 'the two authentic collections'. Where English needs the extra word 'two', Arabic folds the count into the noun's own ending, here in the genitive after 'in'.
