He said to him, "All right, drink what is between the two banks or the tide."
الضِّفَّتَيْنِ — the two banks. The dual, 'two banks', with 'al-' (the): 'the two banks', in the form the preposition 'between' requires. The count of two is in the word's shape; the article marks the known pair. Its case is set by the preposition before it.
