Arabic vocabulary
How to say “they faltered” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَتَخَاذَلُوا وَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ الرِّيحَ
So they faltered, and God sent the wind upon them that night.
فَتَخَاذَلُوا — so they faltered. The sequence-connector 'so' is fused to a past-tense verb for 'they', marking their faltering as the result of all that came before. It ties this collapse to the preceding events. The plural 'they' doer is built into the verb shape.
