Arabic vocabulary
How to say “they memorized it” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَبَلَّغُوا هُمْ بِدَوْرِهِمْ مَا وَعَوُوهُ وَحَفِظُوهُ وَمَا كَتَبُوهُ
And they, in their turn, transmitted what they had understood and memorized and what they had written.
وَحَفِظُوهُ — and they memorized it. 'Wa-' adds a parallel action in the same relative clause. The verb is past with a 'they' subject and an attached '-hu' = 'it' object referring to the same 'what': 'and they memorised it'.
