How to say “think” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ترى الرجل يقدم على أمر يظن فيه لذة أو منفعة، فينغمس فيه،
You see a man rushing into something he thinks brings pleasure or benefit, and he immerses himself in it,
يَظُنُّ — he thinks. A present-tense verb meaning 'he supposes', with 'he' built in, opening a clause describing the matter. Because the matter is indefinite, this descriptive clause hangs on it directly with no word for 'which'.
