How to say “to meet them” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كَأَنَّهُ يَقُولُ إِنْ كَانَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ تَلَاقِيَهُمْ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ
It is as if he is saying that if you had power over them to cast them into disobedience to God.
تَلَاقِيَهُمْ — to meet them. A present-tense verb pushed into its subjunctive shape by the 'to' particle before it, with '-hum' ('them') fused on as its object. So the one word means 'that you cast/throw them', the trimmed ending signaling it is the aim governed by 'to'.
