How to say “treasury” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وبيت ماله الكذب والإسراف في المدح والهجو والتشبيه والنعوت والحماسة،
And its stock-in-trade consists of lies, exaggeration in praise, satire, similes, descriptions, and boasting,
وَبَيْتُ — and its treasury. This noun heads a famous idiom: paired with the next word it means 'stock-in-trade / capital' (literally 'the house of its wealth'). It is the nominative subject of the sentence. On its own it is just 'house', but locked to 'wealth' it becomes 'the core resource of'.
