How to say “two” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ رَسُول الله يَا أَبَا بكر مَا ظَنك بِاثْنَيْنِ الله ثالثهما
The Messenger of Allah said, 'O Abu Bakr, what do you think of two with whom Allah is the third?'
بِاثْنَيْنِ — with two. 'Bi-' (about / concerning) fused with a dual 'two' (the '-ayn' ending), genitive — 'about two [men]'. The dual names exactly the two of them; the 'bi-' links the thought to its object.
