وَفِي الصَّحِيحَيْنِ عَنْ عُمْرَانٍ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ
And in the two Sahih collections, Amran ibn Husayn said.
حُصَيْنٍ — Husayn. The father's name completing the 'son of' chain, wearing the after-link ending the patronymic imposes. Its grammatical job is only to finish the lineage label of the narrator. It carries no independent role in the sentence beyond closing the name.
