Arabic vocabulary
How to say “we rose” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَنَهَضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَنَهَضْنَا مَعَهُ حَتَّى أَتَى الْغُلَامَ،
The Messenger of God rose, and we rose with him until he came to the boy.
وَنَهَضْنَا — and we rose. A joining wa- ('and') fused to the past verb 'we rose', with the first-person plural -na ('we') in its ending. The wa- links this action to the Messenger's rising as a parallel event, and the -na marks the group, the companions, as the doers. So one word ties two clauses and names the plural subject.
