يَا آدَمُ — O Adam. ya = the call-word 'O'; with the name it means 'O Adam', a direct address.

آدَمَ — Adam. As the owner in 'son of Adam,' this name should show the possessive -i, but it belongs to a class of names that refuse the light 'n' and show -a where -i is expected. That odd-looking ending is a regular feature of certain names — worth recognizing on sight.

آدَمَ — Adam. Adam, owner of 'son,' once again wears -a instead of the expected possessive -i because its name-class blocks the normal endings. A small irregularity worth knowing on sight.

The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: A human fills no container worse than his stomach.
آدَمَ — Adam. This is the owner in 'son of Adam', a proper name in the genitive to complete the pairing; the whole phrase is a fixed way of saying 'a human'. The name is fixed in form as a foreign noun.

آدَمَ — of Adam. This is the owner closing the pairing, 'of Adam', a name placed straight after 'son' with no word for 'of'. Even a proper name takes the genitive ending here, marking it as the one the son belongs to.

Some of the people will say to others: "Your father Adam," and they will go to him and say: "O Adam, you are the father of humanity. Allah created you with His hand, breathed into you of His spirit, commanded the angels, and they prostrated to you and placed you in Paradise."
آدَمُ — Adam. A proper name standing in apposition to 'your father' just before it, spelling out who that father is. The two words refer to the same person, so this name simply pins down the identity of the noun it follows.
