Arabic vocabulary
How to say “agreed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لا يُصلَّى بتيممٍ واحدٍ إلا فريضةٌ واحدةٌ، سواءٌ اتفقتا أو اختلفتا؛
A single dry ablution may only be used for one obligatory prayer, whether they are of the same or different type.
اتَّفَقَتَا — they are the same. A dual verb — the '-ata' ending means 'they-two [feminine] did' — 'the two [prayers] matched.' Arabic marks 'exactly two doers' right in the verb's ending. One half of the 'whether... or': whether the two are the same type.
