Arabic vocabulary
How to say “differed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لا يُصلَّى بتيممٍ واحدٍ إلا فريضةٌ واحدةٌ، سواءٌ اتفقتا أو اختلفتا؛
A single dry ablution may only be used for one obligatory prayer, whether they are of the same or different type.
اخْتَلَفَتَا — they are different. Another dual verb with the '-ata' ending — 'the two [prayers] differed.' The mirror of 'matched' just before: same dual marking, opposite sense. Whether the two prayers are alike or unalike, still only one may be prayed per tayammum — closing the rule.
