How to say “al-Rashid” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
And from al-Asma'i: I heard al-Rashid say, "Anecdotes sharpen minds and quicken ears."
الرَّشِيدَ — al-Rashid. The al- makes this proper name definite as a fixed title. It is the receiver-of-the-action of 'I heard', so it wears the accusative object ending, marking it as the one whose speech was heard.
