وَرَوَى عَدِيُّ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ الطَّائِيُّ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ قَالَ
Adi ibn Hatim al-Ta'i narrated from the Messenger of Allah who said:
الطَّائِيُّ — al-Ta'i. A tribal by-name carrying the attached 'the', marking the man as 'the one of the Ta'i tribe'. It rounds out his identity by tagging his tribe as an extra describing word.
