فَالْجَوَابُ إِنَّهُ مَحْمُولٌ عَلَى أَنَّهُ يَضْحَكُهُمْ بِالْكَذِبِ،
So the answer: indeed, it is to be understood that he makes them laugh by lying.
فَالْجَوَابُ — so the answer:. Front fa- chains this onto the prior objection with a 'and so' sense; the al- makes the noun definite, 'the' answer. So the fa- ties the reply to the question, opening 'so the answer is...' as the response.
