Arabic vocabulary
يَقْدِر is how you say “be able to” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
لا يشبهه شئ من كلام الخلق ولا يقدر على مثله الخلق بأسرهم
Nothing from the speech of creation resembles it, nor can the entire creation produce anything like it.
يَقْدِرُ — can. 'is able,' negated — none is able. It reaches its complement through 'on' (the next word), and its doer, 'the creation,' is held back to the end of the clause for weight.
