Arabic vocabulary
How to say “be able to” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لا يشبهه شئ من كلام الخلق ولا يقدر على مثله الخلق بأسرهم
Nothing from the speech of creation resembles it, nor can the entire creation produce anything like it.
يَقْدِرُ — can. 'is able,' negated — none is able. It reaches its complement through 'on' (the next word), and its doer, 'the creation,' is held back to the end of the clause for weight.
