Arabic vocabulary
How to say “behave” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لا يتأدبون بآداب الحديث، ولا يستفيقون من سكرة السماع
They do not observe the etiquettes of the Hadith, nor do they awaken from the intoxication of listening.
يَتَأَدَّبُونَ — observe the etiquettes. A present-tense verb in the reflexive 'discipline oneself / observe good manners' pattern, with a built-in third-person plural 'they' in its ending. It is the verb negated by the preceding 'not', giving 'they do not behave properly'. The pattern itself carries the 'take on for oneself' sense, and the plural ending supplies the subject.
